Roof windows are exposed to all kinds of weather. VELUX® glazing provides heat insulation, sound insulation, added strength and safety – as well as protection from the elements. A full range of glazing types is available to suit your particular needs.
Laminated panes are recommended on all windows above head height. The inner glass in a laminated pane consists of two layers of ordinary float glass with a layer of plastic foil between. If the glass shatters, the shards are retained by the foil.
This standard glazing comes with a toughened outer pane. In winter, it reflects 60% of the heat normally lost through glass, back into the room. During the summer, it works in reverse by reflecting excessive heat from the sun to help prevent the room from overheating.
An improved version of the --59 Pane with a toughened outer and laminated inner pane making it ideal for windows that are positioned above head height. As well as giving extra protection against breakage, it has improved noise reduction, compared with --59 Pane and comes with a clean and clear coating, keeping the window cleaner for longer. Ideal for area that are hard to access for cleaning.
As with the --73 Pane, it comes with a laminated inner for extra protection. The added benefit of the --60 Pane is that it offers even better energy efficiency and noise reduction and comes with a clear and clean outer coating, keeping the window cleaner for longer. Ideal for areas that are hard to access for cleaning.
Combines standard glazing with the inner pane obscured. This makes it ideal for bathrooms as it provides privacy without reducing the amount of natural light.
The double glazed unit provides enhanced safety and security levels compared to other panes. It comes with a toughened outer pane combined with a laminated inner pane which provides a Burglary Resistance of Class P5A. Used only in the GGLQ variant window.
Triple glazed giving the lowest U-value and greater noise reduction. As with the --60 Pane, it comes with a laminated inner for extra protection. Clearview coating on the external pane minimises the formation of condensation.
